My name is Melissa and I help adults who are tired of having flashbacks, feeling isolated and “not good enough” and letting them know it’s okay to not be okay. I have a passion for working with this population and it is exhibited through the empathy and compassion in each therapy session. Together, my clients and I work hard to experience change over time, to not only decrease trauma symptoms, but to increase positivity within self, gain back the power in your life and to make a more intimate connection spiritually. With therapy, healing is possible and I’m here to help you along that journey.
For over 10 years, I have had numerous trainings on trauma and have worked with individuals who have experienced past traumas such as sexual abuse, car accident, a bad break up, divorce and abusive relationships. When working with trauma, my clients typically come to see me weekly so they have consistent support. I will utilize Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and will often integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Christian values and various exercises to help decrease trauma and anxiety. Therapy doesn’t have to feel scary and hard. Being on the right team with the right therapist will help you feel comfortable and begin the healing process.
